"Del Modernisme a la Guerra Civil"
L’Associació d’Amics del Castell, amb col·laboració de la Regidoria municipal de Cultura, presenta una proposta cultural titulada “Del Modernisme a la Guerra Civil” que s’estendrà des d’aquest mes juny i fins al setembre a diversos indrets de la població. La seva intenció és recuperar un dels períodes històrics que han marcat fonamentalment la nostra història contemporània, el Modernisme i la Guerra Civil. En aquest sentit, es pot visitar a la sala del propi Ajuntament fins el 21 de juny l’exposició “9 rutes modernistes a prop de Barcelona”. Una mostra cedida per la Diputació de Barcelona.
Els actes continuen el 20 de juny amb el primer dels concerts a la plaça del Pedró del Castell a càrrec del duo Oriol Castellví & Xavier Jorba, amb un concert amb música i cançons de la guerra civil combinada amb projecció d’imatges antigues de la població. L’activitat segueix el 28 de juny amb un concert de música clàssica a càrrec de la Coral Vallbardina, amb quartet de corda a l’antiga església del Castell. Més endavant, en el mateix marc de la Plaça del Pedró, l’1 d’agost tindrà lloc el concert de jazz, enguany a càrrec de Terrassa Dixie Sextet.
El 10 de setembre, es projectarà la pel·lícula ”Les llargues vacances del 36”, de Jaume Camino, rodada en part a Gelida. Paral·lelament s’inaugurà l’exposició “Els bombardegis franquistes al Penedès, 1937-1939” i Ramon Arnabat en farà una conferència. El cicle es clourà el 27 de setembre, dins les Jornades Europees del Patrimoni, a la torre modernista del matrimoni Xuriguera-Rico, on actuarà la mezzo-soprano Marta Polo i Cartró i el pianista Josep Buforn Galan, que interpretaran música romàntica, modernista i noucentista.
